DARREN STYLES, BREEZE & MC WHIZZKID - 23 April 2010

Blackout Fridays brings you yet another massive night of music, DJs and phat pants with some Happy Hardcore all the way from the UK in the form of three huge international acts; Darren Styles, Breeze and Mc Whizzkid. This night promises to be a good one with some of our top Brisbane local DJs on the line up, and Darren Styles' first return to Brisbane in three years.
DARREN STYLES (UK)
With his vast musical knowledge and experimental ability, Darren Styles is one of the biggest names in hard dance music and one of the greatest Hardcore DJs. Originally part of the mighty Force & Styles with hits under his belt such as ‘Pretty Green Eyes’ and ‘Field of Dreams’, Darren soon became one of the biggest names in UK hardcore. He has since collaborated with fellow hardcore producer and DJ Mark Breeze creating tracks like ‘you’re shining’ and ‘Heartbeatz’.
Darren is also responsible along with Breeze and Hixxy, for the biggest selling UK hardcore compilation series – Clubland X-Treme Hardcore which has now racked up sales of over 1 million across its 6 volumes. He is also currently working on the follow up to his debut solo album ‘Skydivin’ which entered the official UK album charts at number 4 and has sold over 200,000 copies to date.
Darren has won a number of hardcore awards during his career recently including ‘Best DJ’ 2006 and 2007, ‘Best Producer’ 2006 and 2008, ‘Best Hardcore Tune’ 2006, 2008 and 2009. MARK BREEZE (UK)
Since Producing and mixing the scenes biggest ever selling Hardcore compilation, Clubland Xtreme Hardcore, Breeze has seen the hardcore scene grow into what is now one of the biggest and most popular dance music genres in the country today. Having 2 top twenty hit records (You're Shining & Heartbeatz), 4 top 40's and 5 gold selling Xtreme hardcore albums, there is no stopping this highly rated and talented producer. A triple award winner at the Hardcore Awards and with his endless list of remixes for names such as Cascada, Scooter, Ultrabeat, Sugarbabes and Paul Van Dyke to name a few, Breeze is still leading the way in the shape of UK Dance music.
MC WHIZZKID (UK)
MC Whizzkid has proved himself a headliner and 'must see act' all over the world. Resident for UK events like Hardcore Til I Die, Uproar, Slammin Vinyl and Hardcore Heaven, he regually fronts for the DJ greats like Gammer, Darren Styles, Hixxy, Recon, and Breeze, and even founded/co-owns the exciting new record label Broken Records. Aside from the countless A-list productions he features on, you can count on the Whizzkid to blow your mind with his amazing style, energy and lyrical hooks. He has been crowned, by the ravers, the 'Worlds Best Hardcore MC' for the past TWO years.
