So, this is sort of a unique mix for me. See, I normally consider the potential tracks and chronology for at some length, as I find those elements (i.e., the particular assortment of tracks, as well as their order) ultimately make the difference between a great set, and merely a ‘good’ one.
However, this time, I decided to walk over to my stacks, and select the first eight trance records that stood out to me, no matter the sub-genre. As such, this mix, although obviously acidic, features a few different sub-styles of trance, and sort of progresses in tone as the set goes along. Also, I should note that I specifically wanted to mix the old with the new in this set; sure, I do that in many, perhaps most of my mixes, but it’s true here, as well.
Anyway, I really like the way this set turned out, and I hope you do, too.
The samples are all from the introduction of Carl Sagan’s audio recording of his book, Pale Blue Dot (in fact, they come from the two paragraphs that precede the passage which contains the samples that I used in my recent ‘Wonders Undreamt’ ambient mix).
Please enjoy. Peace for now,
