Sorry for my prolonged absence, but my damn mixer broke a couple of weeks ago! Well, technically, it didnt break, as it still transmits sound to the headphones, but any slight touch of ANY knob or slider causes the sound to cackle and come in and out, as well as adds a great deal of static. So, basically, it made mixing impossible.
But I have since gotten a replacement mixer, of a very similar kind, and so Im back at it (although the purchase did unfortunately force me to spend my whole Xmas/New Years bonus in one shot, thus preventing me from buying some records, and donating to this site like I had planned!).
Anyway, this first set with my new mixer was an adventure, not in terms of my ability to mix technically, the set is my usual standard (near flawless, if I may say so :), but I couldnt figure out how to get the volume high enough. Now, I have since realized what the issue was, but bottom line, I had to spend a great deal of time raising the volume levels in this one, after I recorded it which only added to the already too-long amount of time since my last mix (trust me, when I dont get to mix, I am very unhappy).
At any rate, please enjoy this mix; its hard, plodding acid techno, pretty dark in character, and relatively fast, too. The samples are all taken from the great and classic film Schwarzenegger film, Predator, although I should say that I employed completely different quotes than I used the last time I sampled that film (which I think was in my High Stakes mix).
Anyway, see you again soon,
