So, I’ve been buried in homework, but I’m deliberately taking a break from it tonight, so I hope to put up 2 or 3 mixes in the next few hours.
Anyway, here is an old set I spun at a friend’s house party back in 2002 (I think). Put simply, I grew up in the 80s (I’m 30), and before I got into electronic dance music, I listened to a fair amount of British New Wave/Synth-Pop, partially because I had older siblings who did. In any case, I always remembered my ‘roots’ in this regard, so when I started buying vinyl in the late 1990s, I had to make sure to purchase some classic tracks from my youth. And, since some other people I knew also liked these tracks, they wanted me to spin an 80s set at that party – so I did.
Admittedly, I recorded it on a cassette tape, but it sounds pretty good, despite that fact (in terms of the audio quality, I mean). And it was a real blast to mix at the party, particularly since you have to be creative when mixing tracks of this style.
At any rate, if you enjoy old-school stuff, and/or 80s music, please check this out!
Also, I plan on putting up one or two other mixes tonight, as I said; I’m leaning towards an acid mix with a techno bent, and possibly a progressive/melodic trance set, too. We’ll have to see….. I’m off to the record stacks, see you shortly.

It don't matter where you're from, or what you're into now, 80s ROCKS.
So does Depeche Mode. Props.
