I started dj-ing about 4 1/2 years ago when I moved to australia from Hokitika NZ, been heavily into drum and bass since 1999 and the opportunity to buy a pair of decks was an exciting move for me.
Influenced by Bad Company, Concord Dawn, Ed Rush & Optical, Pendulum, State Of Mind, Upbeats, Dose, Matrix & Futurebound, my neighbours so got the chance to hear dnb regularly as my constant desire to mix soon started to take up alot of waking hours.
After practicing for a couple of years with my older brother Kurrupt a chance meeting with NZ dj Dreadknowledge led to the three of us starting the RollDeeper drum and bass nights in Brisbane which shook up a stagnent scene and got people excited about dnb again. After a solid year rolling out RollDeeper parties, Kurrupt and I decided to venture alone and begun the BassCreepz crew along with friends DNA and Mullet.
Once established we began to feature national & international djs such as Mark 7, QBik (AUS) Heavy T, Borderline, Dose, Menace (NZ) and Futurebound (UK).
The future ahead for Brisbanes dnb scene is exciting with more and more quality acts heading to QLD and the crowds getting stronger and certainly the BassCreepz will be there pushing the scene further along.
Shout outs to all the creepz, Rus, Schrodz, Mull & LMC aswell as all our mates. Also to Kim @ Junglettes, Gareth @ Wax Assassins, Dank Morass & Jono @ Kranky. All helping to push the scene along.
