About Me
FROM FEATURE IN SCENE MAGAZINE BRISBANE 1st October 2008...

- What inspired your DJ name?
You’ll have to ask my parents, but that stupid movie with all the singing had something to do with it

- In a nutshell, describe what you play?
Latin inspired mayhem, house, tribal, tech, breaks, electro, prog and even a bit harder if the moment calls for it. I’m a genre hussy

- What track turns you on right now?
“Talkin’ about House” by Jesse Garcia, really smooth and funky. This track will still sound good in a few years

- What made you start DJing?
People have always told me Oliver Fernandez was a good name for a Designer or DJ, so I do both. But after seeing BEATSTREET when I was around 7 I’ve always maintained a fascination with dance music.

- What’ the weirdest thing you’ve seen in a nightclub?
I’ve had to DJ in the Cockatoo club (upstairs at the BEAT) on several big occasions, so I’ve seen many things that as a straight man I probably would never have encountered otherwise.

- What’s the worst bootleg you’ve ever heard?
“Destination Calabria!!!”, ruined Rune’s classic enough said, good video clip though.

- The most idiotic request you’ve had as a DJ?
“Do you have any Indian music?” He asked repeatedly, just in-case I realised for some strange reason I carried some
