I started DJ'n back in the summer of 2005 when I got my 1st pair of decks for my 17th birthday. Not much was happening apart from learning what to do and bringing my mates around for a mix each week and recording tapes! These were good times no doubt but the sounds were not getting no further than the four walls of my bedroom or any further than my mates stereo systems. After finding out what the score was to play at events I found a local night called 'Reaction' which I took a demo to and luckily enough the promoters got back to me.
My 1st booking was late on in 2007 at 'Reaction: Audio Assault' - 22nd September in Liverpool which featured DJ's Kurt, Lee UHF, Fretman, MC's Mental & Keyes + More. The night went decent for a 1st booking and got positive feedback from my set which was good! I then started recording mixes at home and was posting them on the internet on sites like; MySpace, Bebo & Facebook to try and get feedback and also to get my name out there a bit. People were enjoying the mixes and in October 2008 (after some time) I was booked again to play another local night called 'Horizon' which has featured massive DJ's across the UK Hardcore & Hardcore Techno scene for years. That also went down a treat as I raised a few eyebrows within a new crowd of people and got quite a bit of positives back from the ravers.
I then expanded this quest by going to Manchester to attend Totally Lost It with a demo and as 2008 came to an end I was playing the 1st TLI of 2009 in January. Yet again the set went down well and impressing people out of my usual surroundings made me a very happy Dagzy! Not exactly sure what I done but as that year went by I got the people of Manchester recognizing the name as I went on to play again in May and at the Raver Baby Experience @ Totally Lost It in September. Also in 2009 I was playing back at Horizon in April which on the night had the God that is Radium (Fr) blessing the 1's & 2's. Again in October I was to feature at Horizon which yet again hosted Radium to play and Joey Riot with the usual suspects playing on the night!
Also throughout 2009 I started to have a pop at producing my own material and kind of got the hang of it. I've made a fair few tunes with various styles going off and still learning on the producing side of things as there is no doubt I have a brain for it!
2010 started off very well with Drum & Bass heavyweight promoters Innovation hitting Manchester hosting a night with a Hardcore room which I was asked to play upon. Horizon got smashed once again and so did a little night called Twisted. Also smashed it B2B with Jay Shaw @ Ravers Are; X-treme in April 2011 and got very good feedback from the ravers! By the time July come abuot I got to grace the decks with a B2B with the man himself Big-Worm who runs Horizon with Tugie. Throughout all of this I have been recording mixes at home and hope to post them on here for people to listen too! I've played out 3/4 times early on in this year at various nights and who knows what the future has for me. Enjoy my mixes and find out what I'm all about
