| Biography |
DJ Bricksta is the production and deejaying alias of 17 year old, Canberra based DJ/Producer Luke Tkalcevic.
After getting The Ministry Of Sound Annual 2005 for Christmas in 2004, Bricksta became obsessed with house music, having already explored big beat through his biggest influence, Fatboy Slim.
Starting out producing, Bricksta eventually bought decks in late 2006 and started out doing house parties. Since then DJ Bricksta has pushed the boundaries with his energy filled deejay sets and mixes. When you see a Bricksta set you know your in for something funky or fun. It could go from hip hop to house, up to breakbeat and finish with drum n bass but at the end you’ll notice that all the tracks are linked by a common theme of party, funk, filth and fun.
The biggest achievement of this journey happened in July 2008 when DJ Bricksta supported one of his biggest influences, The Aston Shuffle. Proof that promoters are sitting up and taking notice of what DJ Bricksta has on offer.
DJ Bricksta is continuing 2008 with a string of gigs towards the end of the year and is also working on production work to hopefully be released at the end of the year.
